11 Week Ski Instructor Course

An 11 week ski instructor course is our most popular programme. This totally inclusive course cannot be beaten on price. Flying out in January you begin the winter experience of a lifetime.

Within 11 weeks you can attain internationally recognised qualifications – CSIA Level 1 and Level 2 – and whilst on the way to this success enjoy an all mountain experience. As your skiing improves you will be tackling powder, steeps and moguls with style and confidence.

All our courses are hosted by Sun Peaks Resort, Canada. Living and training in this alpine village means being part of a small and lively community. You will meet a variety of people of all ages and make new friends on and off the course. With the first lift only five minutes away from your door in the morning – can it get any better?

Ski Instructor Course Training

We believe success depends on the quality and quantity of teaching. That’s why all our courses provide 5 hours of instruction, 5 days per week – and why we chose the sports school at Sun Peaks Resort. Here you will find only the highest qualified instructors.

Your ski instructor course training begins the day after your arrival. With regular assessment, video analysis and feedback your skiing will improve radically. After you have attained your ski instructor Level 1 certification – usually in 3 or 4 weeks, the sky is your limit.

Intensive training for Level 2 continues from week 4. If this is not enough, we offer the more ambitious skier the opportunity to gain additional instructor qualifications in race coaching, park skills and Adaptive Sports. For those more inclined to teaching, the sports school encourages students to shadow their instructors on ‘real’ lessons. Whatever your talents you have a chance to shine!

Our training support does not stop at the end of the course. For those serious about finding work as an instructor we assist in finding interviews, writing CVS and applying for work visas.

Sun Peaks Resort

No bus to the ski slopes, Ski-in, ski-out!

Sun Peaks Resort is a ski-in and ski-out village. So unlike other ski instructor courses, where you have a bus ride to and from the slopes every day – the sports school and your early morning lesson is just minutes from your door.

Three mountains lead into the village of Sun Peaks Resort. This is a massive and challenging ski area with a variety of terrain from cruiser greens to double diamond blacks. Off piste there are bowls of fresh untouched champagne powder and the snow record is unrivalled! 6 metres last year!

And to feel a part of the team at Sun Peaks Resort, you are invited to spend a day with their Ski Patrol and take a ride on their piste groomers.

And after a day on the slopes…….

Free time and fun!

If you still have the energy …. Sun Peaks Resort rocks.

Your accommodation at the Hearthstone Lodge is situated right on the slopes. So after a day on your ski instructor course you can wind down in their hot tubs, work out in their gym or catch up with the world on free Wi Fi in your own room.

If you want to meet up with your fellow trainees and friends there are many bars in the resort. ‘Bottoms’ is a favourite with our clients for a drink after training. And on a Friday night most meet up at ‘Massa’s' to watch videos of themselves competing in the local, weekly race series.

Want to carry on skiing when the sun goes down? There is a floodlit park right opposite your hotel.

Not enough? You can swim in the heated open air pool, ice skate, tube ride the lower slopes, play ice hockey, and take part in local events such as the Winter Wine Festival.

And at a weekend? Why not try dog sledding, snowmobiling, nordic skiing or take a trip to the nearest city, Kamloops, where you can watch major league ice hockey, do a spot of shopping or party in one of the many nightclubs?

Comfort is important when you take part on a ski instructor course. The four star, en-suite accommodation at the Hearthstone Lodge has kitchen facilities, free wifi in every room and is only 50 metres from the nearest lift.
