18 Week Ski Instructor Course

Our 18 week ski instructor course came from client demand.  Many skiers want to spend their entire winter in the mountains. We have structured a whole season ski instructor programme to start in November. This longer course can be tailored to your own preferences.

In one season you can choose to:-

1. Train to be a Level 3 ski instructor.
2. Gain dual qualifications in skiing and snowboarding.
3. Take a leisurely approach to attaining CSIA Levels 1 and 2 ski instructor qualifications.

Flying out in November you will be amazed at the amount of early snow in Canada. After a few days getting to know the resort we drop you straight into training.

Being an early bird on the slopes you won’t have to share the mountains with hundreds of people. You can learn the terrain, get to meet the locals and settle in to enjoy a Christmas of a lifetime.

We encourage you to select your own approach to training. You are able to progress as fast or as slowly as you want. The snow school at Sun Peaks Resort is a centre for instructor training. There are a variety of courses to choose from througout the season.

Once you have passed your Level 1 ski instructor course, you are free to develop your talents. So whether you prefer teaching or playing in the park or powder, we offer a multitude of opportunities.

Our 18 week ski instructor course includes many extras. You can spend time with Ski Patrol learning about mountain safety and emergency responses. You can take a ride on a piste groomer. You may wish to participate in regular race events. You receive massive discounts on additional activities and equipment. You also have the opportunity to attain an adaptive sports qualification.

Option 1. Train to be a Level 3 instructor – push yourself to the most amazing standards

This is an intensive ski instructor course

The Canadian Level 3 licence is one of the most highly regarded qualifications in the world. It is the best you could ever expect to achieve in one season.

The snow school at Sun Peaks Resort is a leading training centre in Canada. It is probably the only place where an 18 week ski instructor course could be considered.

Option 2. Dual Qualifications – an asset at any snow school

Ski and snowboard training together!

Attain a ski instructor qualification and a snowboard instructor qualification all in one season.

A dual qualification is popular with snow schools around the world. An 18 week ski instructor course is great for anyone wishing to gain both.

Option 3. Level 1 & 2 Qualifications – the leisurely approach

Relax and teach over Christmas!

Starting in November you take your Level 1 ski instructor course exam in December.

You will have plenty of time to gain some great teaching experience on our 18 week ski instructor course. During the Christmas and New Year holidays you can shadow instructors working at the snow school.
Training continues in January and you can take a leisurely approach towards the Level 2 exams in either February or March.

Comfort is important when you take part on an 18 week ski instructor course. The four star, en-suite accommodation at the Hearthstone Lodge has kitchen facilities, free wifi in every room and is only 50 metres from the nearest lift.
