CADS training - Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing

This is a certified qualification and introduces you to the methods and equipment used for teaching people with disabilities. It is an excellent course for both skiers and snowboarders and a great addition to any CV. For insurance purposes, all clients taking part must be members of the Canadian Association of Disabled Skiers. Registration is $40.00 and can be paid on line before the course begins.

Additional trips

Day trips to the nearby resorts of Revelstoke, Big White, Silver Star and Whistler will be arranged so you can enjoy the powder and variable terrain of other areas.

Canada's largest ski in - ski out resort

With 3 mountains all leading into the resort and almost 4,000 acres of terrain, Sun Peaks Resort is one of Canada’s premier ski and snowboard destinations.

Each mountain has skiing and snowboarding for all abilities including leisurely green and blue runs, to deep powder bowls, glades, tree line runs, double diamond blacks and some rather intimidating off the scale steeps.

As one of Canada's premier ski and snowboard destinations it is one of the only resorts that is able to examine level 3 and 4 course instructors. Not only is it considered one of the highest level of training centres but it is also the home to the internationally known Nancy Greene Race Training School, and is also the training ground of the Austrian racing team.

After a long day on the slopes you will want to relax and enjoy some personal time either on your own or with friends. Whether it's relaxing at the outdoor heated swimming pool, sat in one of the many hot tubs, or meeting at one of the bars, café's and restaurants you will never be short of somewhere to socialise.

There is also a nightclub for late night partygoers - and if Sun Peaks isn't enough for you the vibrant city of Kamloops is only 40 minutes away.

Guaranteed Employment with “The Winter Sports Company”

There is huge demand for ski and snowboard instructors all over the world, especially during peak periods. If you are determined to work within the industry and have qualified as a ski instructor or snowboard instructor you should be able to find employment, and we are there to help. There are hundreds of instructor jobs available and the following season you could find yourself working anywhere in the world, including one of the many resorts in Australasia.

Sun Peaks Resort          

Vincent Lafontaine, the Sun Peaks Resort sports director, and Ian Logan, the recruitment officer, are in a position to offer full time employment to all of our successful level 2 instructors every season.

Providing you demonstrate respect for the “Alpine Code of Conduct”, and you are punctual and reliable throughout the programme, you will be invited for an interview with Vincent Lafontaine and Ian Logan, with a view to working at Sun Peaks Resort the following season.

This is an exclusive agreement between The Winter Sports Company and Sun Peaks Resort Corporation, and is a great demonstration of the confidence they have in our company, and in their own training instructor and facilities.

Mount Niseko – Japan

We have an exclusive agreement with Mount Niseko ski school and can guarantee work to at least 6 of our ski or snowboard instructors every season. This exclusive agreement is only available to The Winter Sports Company and is a demonstration of the confidence ski and snowboard schools have in our training programmes.

We provide all our clients past and present with regular updates of ski instructor jobs and snowboard instructor jobs that become available worldwide.

Interviews for Level 1 and Level 2 Instructors

You will have the opportunity to work in Europe and Canada every season - including the season you train in. We have an agreement with a Canadian ski school who are happy to employ our Level 1 qualified instructors. This is an on-going agreement and you can if you wish work a full season as a level 1 instructor.

We will conduct interviews towards the end of the course and successful applicants will be offered work in Canada and up to four weeks work in Europe. Anyone who completes the level 1 course in February could be working in the Alps at Easter!
