Internship At Sun Peaks Resort

I attended a course at Sun Peaks Resort, Canada. Whilst there, I trained to be a CASI Level 1 & 2 instructor and had the opportunity to add in Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 and CASI Park Level 1 courses, so I came away with a great set of skills. Great value for money when you consider the cost of lift passes, accommodation, food, etc. It’s the best way to start a day by going to The Cahilty for bacon and pancakes to give you the energy needed for the day ahead.

Training For CASI Level 1 and 2

The instructors at Sun Peaks Resort were first class with a fantastic pass rate, plus they’re all really friendly, and it felt like we were training with the Jedi of snowboarding! Five full days of intense training per week with early starts, but being a ski-in-ski-out resort, you get a bit longer to lie in after a good night out. It’s not a walk in the park, and you will be tired physically and mentally throughout, but it’s not a problem; could you do anything better than spending your days with great people snowboarding or skiing every day?

Off-Snow Activities

After a long week of training, you get weekends to spend however you choose, which was spent boarding or skiing in big groups for most of us. However, the odd day of recovering from a night out watching movies was still a great way to spend the time. We took trips to Kamloops to see ice hockey or do some shopping. We also had a chance to play ice hockey in the resort a few times, leaving me still very sore. Apart from snowboarding daily, the best part was making lifelong friends with people on the course and the locals.

Choosing The Winter Sports Company

The Winter Sports Company have been a fantastic help, from booking the course to helping me find work after completing the course. Especially as the company I initially booked with went into administration, who knew this would work out in my favour? The course the Winter Sports Company offered was far superior.

The team were always on hand to help solve any queries or advice throughout the course. Every time I have contacted them by phone or email, they have been quick and happy to help. If you have the money, there is no question that you should go and have the best time ever! How do I Book onto a Course?
