Our feet haven’t touched the floor…
The last 7 days have seen our fantastic BASI group in Italy pass their level 1 ski instructor exam, 2 WSC students do a radio interview in Canada, and the Brits gain victory in the Sun Peaks Annual Family Cup.
It’s that time of year when not a week seems to go by without exams being taken and instructor certificates being issued, and the celebrations commencing.
Last week was the turn of our incredible BASI students. With a 100% pass rate, we couldn’t be more proud of the group. There’s no rest for the wicked, though – it is straight into level 2 training this week!
Winter Sports Company represented Great Britain in the Sun Peaks 10th Annual Family Cup race… But, unfortunately, competing against 79 racers from Australia, New Zealand and Canada, we only went and WON the damn thing!
The winning team consisted of Ian Ridler, Matthew King and Adam Weatherill – top work, lads! Not only are we chuffed to hold the title – the winning team are the first Brits to ever win! We’re not going to be gracious winners. We’ll be bragging about this for the next 12 months… until we have to defend the title!
Here are the winning team’s smiling faces with Sun Peak’s very own ski legend Nancy Greene.
The winning team with Nancy Greene and the all-important trophy!

Dragging themselves out of bed extra early, Emily and Sam took a brief break from their instructor course to be interviewed alongside their avalanche training instructor Brad on Daybreak Kamloops.
It is pretty clear both Sam and Emily are having the time of their lives and have learnt so much from their course already – and they’re barely halfway through!
