Booking Conditions
The following booking terms and conditions form the basis of your agreement with,
The Winter Sports Training Company Ltd,
Registered Office: Heathfield Down Cottage, Modbury, Ivybridge, Devon, PL2 0SU.
Registered Companies House number: 09172088.
Other trading names, such as Winter Sports Company, WSC, SSC, and Summer Sports Company, are used throughout the website, marketing material, advertising, and documentation and are considered trading under one name.
Please read them carefully as they set out our respective rights and obligations. In these Booking Conditions, “they,” “you”, and “your” include the first named person on the booking and all persons on whose behalf a booking is made.
We sell various travel products, and you should ensure you read and understand the general terms and conditions and the terms and conditions that apply to your specific travel arrangements. English Law governs these terms and conditions.
Making a Booking
By making a booking, the first named person on the booking (the lead name) agrees on their behalf and of any additional persons detailed on the booking that,
- They have read these terms and conditions and have the authority to and do agree to be bound by them;
- They consent to our use of information by our Privacy Policy;
- They are over 18 years old and, when placing an order for services with age restrictions, declare that they and all members of the party are of the appropriate age to purchase those services;
- They accept financial responsibility for payment of the booking on behalf of all persons detailed on the booking.
Whether you book alone or as a group, we will only deal with the lead name in all subsequent correspondence. As the lead, you are responsible for passing on all information on any confirmations, changes, and amendments to all persons travelling to your party.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all the details of your travel documentation are correct and that payment is made for all monies payable concerning this booking, even in the event of default by any group member.
We will confirm your booking by issuing a confirmation invoice to the party leader. Where you book through our website, any electronic acknowledgement of your booking is not a confirmation of it. Please check this invoice carefully as soon as you receive it. Contact us immediately if any information in the confirmation needs to be corrected or completed, as it may not be possible to make changes later.
We regret that we cannot accept any liability if we are notified of any inaccuracies (for which we are responsible) in any document after five days of sending it out. We will do our best to rectify any mistake notified to us outside of these time limits, but you must meet any costs involved.
Insurance
Adequate and valid travel insurance is compulsory for all The Winter Sports Training Company Limited travellers, and it is a condition of accepting your booking that you agree that you will obtain travel insurance for your booking by the date of departure. This must cover you and your party against the cost of cancellation by you; the cost of assistance (including, but not limited to, medical and repatriation costs) in the event of accident or illness; loss of baggage and money; and other expenses. Failure to disclose relevant information may affect your insurance. If you fail to travel with adequate insurance coverage, we will not be liable for any losses concerning insurance coverage that would otherwise have been available. Proof of cover may be requested before departure.
Financial Protection
We hold an Air Travel Organizer’s Licence issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL number 7337). When you buy an ATOL-protected flight or flight-inclusive holiday from us, you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists what is financially protected, where you can get information on what this means, and who to contact if things go wrong.
We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier can do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances, the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations, and you agree to pay any outstanding amount you will pay under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases, it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer, where applicable).
Suppose we or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, cannot provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency. In that case, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit, you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent or your credit card issuer where applicable. You also agree that any such claims may be reassigned to another body if that other body has paid the sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.
If you book arrangements other than an ATOL-protected flight or a package holiday, the financial protection referred to above does not apply.
By the UK Package Travel & Linked Travel Regulations 2018, all passengers booking with The Winter Sports Training Company Ltd are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequently, the balance of all monies received by us, including repatriation costs and arrangements, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to The Winter Sports Training Company Limited’s insolvency.
There is no requirement for Financial Protection of day trips or single elements, and none is provided.

Payments and Deposits
Pricing and Payment Schedules
Prices for the courses and internships that we sell are shown on our website at www.wintersportscompany.com. The price applicable to a booking is for the relevant course or internship shown on our website on the date the booking form is received, together with the non-refundable booking deposit. If the price quoted on your booking form is outdated or incorrect, we will not issue you a booking confirmation until you expressly agree on the new price by email.
Related payment schedules are sent to you. Payment between you and WSC can be set up via standing order and agreed in writing via email. Standing order payments can equal weekly or monthly payments; all monies must be received two weeks before flying. Alternatively, a single lump sum can be paid up to 8 weeks before departure. You must pay the entire balance by the due date you are notified.
Any payments relating to bolt-ons and Equipment will be invoiced separately and will not be included in the original quote. Some of these elements are paid for in advance, and some are paid for in the resort.
Deposits
Deposits are non-refundable, and you must pay a deposit of £300 to make a booking. If booking a course, a further £1000 deposit is required upon acceptance of a quote 16 weeks before departure.
If booking an internship, a further £1000 deposit is required when a Working Holiday Visa (i.e. IEC) is received or 16 weeks before the departure date (whichever comes first).
When The Winter Sports Training Company Limited receives £1300, your resort of choice will be secured, and you will begin onboarding. This deposit is part of your course or internship fee and is not an added cost.
The Winter Sports Training Company Limited reserves the right to cancel your booking without notification if you fail to adhere to the payment schedule outlined at the time of booking. You will be subject to cancellation charges.
Suppose payment has yet to be made when outlined. After reasonable effort and no reply or communication, The Winter Sports Training Company Limited reserves the right to cancel your booking, charge cancellation fees and hold the £300 deposit set out in these Terms and Conditions.
Note: Deposits are part of the course price and allow The Winter Sports Training Company Limited to hold reservations for you, but it does not guarantee the final cost of the package.
Offers
Any discounts or offers advertised on our website cannot be used with other discounts or offers.
Cost Increases
Changes in exchange rates, fuel charges and taxes may require The Winter Sports Training Company Limited to raise the price of your holiday. The Winter Sports Training Company Limited will absorb the first 2% of any increase, and amounts exceeding 2% will be passed on to you. If the price increase exceeds 10%, you can apply for a full refund in writing within 14 days of receiving our additional charges invoice.
Note: A 1.5% charge will be made for any payments made by credit cards held in the UK and Europe. Credit card payments made by clients from the rest of the world will incur a 4% charge.
Cancelling or Making Changes to Your Booking
If you wish to amend your booking, The Winter Sports Training Company Limited will try to alter previously agreed arrangements. Requests must be sent in writing or via email and will be subject to a £35 administration fee per person plus any extra charges required to perform the amendment.
Please be aware that costs could increase closer to your departure date, so try to contact us as soon as possible. If we cannot assist you and you do not wish to proceed, we will class this as your cancellation. Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email, and a cancellation fee will be payable (seen below).
Note: Certain arrangements to your itinerary may not be amended after they have been confirmed, and you may be subject to a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangement.
Cancellation Charges
Cancelling requests must be made in writing via email, and your cancellation notice will take effect when we receive this email.
The cancellation charges are as follows and are calculated based on the total cost payable by the person cancelling, excluding premiums and amendment charges, which are not refundable in the event of the person to whom they apply cancelling.
Period before departure when notice of cancellation is received Cancellation charge per person expressed as a percentage of total booking price
- Before 16 weeks – loss of booking deposit (£300)
- 16 to 12 weeks – loss of full deposit (£1300) *
- 12 to 8 weeks – loss of 25% of the total cost of the holiday
- 8 to 0 weeks – loss of 100% of the total cost of the holiday
*If on the IEC Canada Internship, the full deposit is requested when receiving your IEC working holiday invite. The full deposit (£1300) is non-refundable, irrespective of the 16-week departure date.
Should you withdraw from an internship, we can only transfer your deposit to the following season if we fill your place. You will only be refunded half of the second part of your deposit, the £1000, not the £300 booking deposit. Alternatively, if you find someone deemed suitable to fill your position, you will be offered the full £1000 deposit but not a £300 booking deposit. If you are on a course booking, then we can transfer your £1000 to the following year. However, you will lose the £300.
Note: The terms of your insurance policy may cover a reason for your cancellation, and you may be able to reclaim these charges.

Cancellations
We will cancel your itinerary for reasons of force majeure or your failure to pay the final balance as outlined in your payment schedule if the minimum number of students is not reached or if there are other valid reasons.
All sums paid to The Winter Sports Training Company Limited will be fully refunded for any of these events. Clients will be advised of the reasons for cancellation and assisted in finding alternatives.
Note: Schedules and programmes provided by The Winter Sports Training Company Limited are a fair indication of what is intended to be delivered on a training course, tour or activity. They do not constitute a contractual obligation by The Winter Sports Training Company Limited.
Changes Beyond Our Control
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions, we will not be liable or pay you compensation if our contractual obligations to you are affected by any event that the supplier of the service in question or we could not foresee or avoid, even with all due care.
Force Majeure
The Winter Sports Training Company Limited will not be held responsible for any unforeseeable changes and events beyond our or our supplier’s control. Such events may include but are not limited to war or threat of war, riots, civil strife on any scale, actual threatened terrorist activity, industrial dispute, man-made or natural disaster, technical problems with transport or machinery, adverse weather conditions, pandemic, lack of snow, poor snow conditions, resort closure due to lack of snow and any other events or similar circumstances beyond our control.
Poor Snow and Weather Conditions
If there is poor or no snow in your booked ski resort, we will endeavour to get you on the slopes as near your chosen resort as possible. Fortunately, we are in the unique position of running out of multiple ski resorts, all located between three to 6 hours from each other. Where alternative arrangements are made, we will do our best to make it as cost-effective as possible, and only the costs, not profits, will be passed on to you to get you to the snow. We cannot, however, guarantee that we will be able to make these necessary arrangements.
There may be occasions when all ski lifts in the resort close due to extreme weather conditions. If we cannot run our on-snow training over consecutive days, we will try to supplement this with other off-snow activities. We cannot refund any on-snow time missed due to lift closure, but your insurance policy may cover you for lift closure.
Liability
The Winter Sports Training Company Limited does not own, manage, control, or operate any hotel, insurance company, club, mountain resort, adventure company, vehicle or any other service that would fit in the supplier classification. These independent suppliers provide many of the services that make up your holiday. Some of these terms and conditions may limit or exclude the supplier’s liability to you, usually in accordance with applicable International Conventions. Copies of the relevant parts of these terms and conditions are available from us or the supplier concerned.
We are liable to you for performing all services provided in your confirmation booking, irrespective of whether those services will be conducted by Winter Sports or Winter Sports Suppliers. Where you believe that there has been a failure to perform, or there has been an improper performance of, one of the services included in Your Booking during Your Trip, you must inform us immediately. Failure to do so may be considered when determining appropriate compensation.

We will not be responsible or pay you compensation for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, expense, cost or other claim of any description if it results from the act(s) and omission(s) of the person(s) affected; or the act(s) and omission(s) of a third party unconnected with the provision of the services contracted for and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office publishes regularly updated travel information on their website, www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice, which you are recommended to consult before booking and in good time before departure.
Health
Health facilities, hygiene and disease risks vary worldwide. You should take health advice about your specific needs as early as possible. Sources of information include www.fco.gov.uk, www.hpa.org.uk, and your GP or a specialist clinic.
All travellers with The Winter Sports Training Company Limited must be in a physical and mental condition appropriate to the training course, tour or activity booked. The party leader is responsible for informing The Winter Sports Training Company Limited of any past or present medical conditions that may affect their health and well-being or any party member’s health and well-being whilst on a training course, tour or activity.

We have many blogs and articles on our knowledge base that cover these topics.
Your Responsibility
When you book a training course, tour, or activity, you accept that you and your party members must always adhere to the directives of all instructors and leaders responsible for delivering the training course, tour, or activity. You and all party members must also accept and adhere to instructions provided by resort representatives of The Winter Sports Training Company Limited. This applies particularly to matters of health and safety. Individuals may be asked to withdraw from a training course, tour or activity if their behaviour is considered by the resort representatives of The Winter Sports Training Company Limited to be detrimental to the safety and welfare of other course members as a whole or to any of them. A client asked to withdraw from a training course, tour, or activity due to their behaviour or because they have committed an illegal act and have no right to a refund. The client is responsible for his/her behaviour and will indemnify The Winter Sports Training Company Limited of all loss and liability, however indirect, suffered by, or on behalf of, The Winter Sports Training Company Limited as a result of any acts or omissions of the client, whether negligent or not.
Behaviour
While participating in a training course, tour, or activity, you and all party members must conduct yourselves properly. On some courses, tours or activities, you will be required to complete and sign a behaviour/code of conduct agreement before arrival to ensure they understand and accept this clause within these Terms & Conditions.
Any behaviour that harms the reputation of The Winter Sports Training Company Limited breaches the accepted standards of conduct of any host hotel and country, or breaches the behaviour/code of conduct agreement, will result in a client being withdrawn from the course, tour or activity. Depending on the severity of the breach, you will be given 24 to 48 hours to find alternate accommodation.
A client who asked to withdraw from a training course, tour or activity due to their behaviour has no right to a refund. The Winter Sports Training Company shall be entitled to recover from a client the cost of all damage or loss caused by clients.
Pastoral Care Statement
The Winter Sports Training Company Limited has adopted a pastoral care policy, which sets out policies and procedures that will ensure the safety and welfare of participants in instructor training programs while providing them with an encouraging environment to enjoy and complete their courses and exams.
The duty of care is designed in particular, but not exclusively, for young people.
The Winter Sports Training Company Limited will ensure that its employees and third-party suppliers comply with and practice the roles and responsibilities detailed in this statement. A copy of this document is available on request.
Accommodation Responsibilities
When you occupy a rented chalet or house for an extended stay which has been booked on your behalf by The Winter Sports Training Company Limited, you must take care of the accommodation provided and adhere to the rules given to you by the owner/renter of the property as well as the Winter Sports Company resort representative.
Before arrival in the resort, a damage deposit of £300 (Europe) or $500 (Canada) will be collected from each client. This deposit will be invoiced together with additional Bolt On or Equipment payments. Any of these elements will be made by bank transfer, and any damages will be billed to the client or their family.
The deposit will be refunded four weeks after the end of your stay unless you have caused any untoward damage to property or goods in the chalet/house or the accommodation is so dirty it requires excessive cleaning. All clients are responsible for the property damage they cause during their stay and the cleanliness of their rooms and common areas. Photographs will be taken before and after occupancy to identify damage and cleanliness.
If you have overnight guests, you are responsible for the cost of any damage caused to your accommodation during their stay. You must meet these charges.
You may be evicted for violating the owner’s/renters/representatives’ policies. Again, you will be expected to understand and adhere to the Code of Conduct, and if you breach these terms, you are responsible for finding alternate accommodation at your own cost.
Where a meal package is included in the training course or internship, and you wish to withdraw from it, The Winter Sports Training Company Limited will require written notice 30 days prior.
Note: House parties are not permitted. All accommodation is non-smoking, and no pets are allowed. If you have not paid for the damages to the property, you will be given a second chance to amend this. Failure to do so will result in The Wintersports Company reserving the right to you being removed from the course, and any remaining unused elements will be used to offset your damage costs if we cannot acquire these remunerations. This can include but is not limited to removing your transportation to the airport
Additional Training Costs
There is a minimum acceptable level of ski or snowboard ability on each course; this can be found on the website or in correspondence with The Winter Sports Training Company Limited.
Suppose your ski or snowboarding ability becomes incompatible with the other group participants, maybe due to absence from the course (injury or otherwise). In that case, including you in group lessons may need to be more practical. The Winter Sports Training Company Limited reserves the right to exclude you from the course and arrange alternative lessons. These alternative lessons may vary in duration and differ from the course booked. You must pay any extra training costs directly to the ski school. These will be charged at a private rate set by the Snowschool, not the WSC.

Air Carriers
By EU Directive (EC) No 2111/2005 Article 9, we are required to bring to your attention the existence of a ‘Community list’ which contains details of air carriers subject to an operating ban with the EU Community. The Community list is available for inspection at http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/list_en.htm.
We are also required to advise you of the carrier(s) (or, if the airline (s) is not known, the likely carrier(s)) that will operate your flight(s) at the time of booking. Where we can only inform you of the likely carrier(s) at the time of booking, we shall notify you of the actual carrier(s) identity as soon as we become aware. Any change to the operating carrier(s) after your booking has been confirmed will be notified as soon as possible. We are only sometimes in a position when booking to confirm flight timings, which will be used in connection with your flight.
Your tickets, dispatched two-three weeks before your flight, will show the latest flight times. You should immediately check your tickets to ensure you have the correct flight times and your name/date of birth is correct. If flight times change after tickets have been dispatched, we will contact you to let you know.
You can amend your dates after the tickets have been issued by the Winter Sports Company or yourself. If you wish the WSC to do this on your behalf, a £35 administrative fee will be added.
