If you’ve got your eye on becoming a ski instructor this winter, don’t make the mistake many students do, waiting until after exams to book.

Every year, we see the same pattern. Enthusiastic candidates message us in July or August, thinking there’s plenty of time left. But by then, resorts are full, no time for visas, and internship opportunities are gone. Don’t let this be you!

Don’t Leave It Too Late! Why You Need to Book Your Ski Instructor Internship Before Exams Are Over.

  1. Internship Places Will Fill Fast. Each season, resorts offer a limited number of internship spots and companies begin confirming candidates early. The most popular resorts and courses fill up fast, and once they’re full, they’re full. By booking now, you’ll secure your place ahead of the crowd.
  2. Resort Interviews Start in August. Partner resorts begin their hiring and interview process as early as August. If you wait until after your exams, you’ll risk missing the first and best rounds of interviews, when most internship places are offered.
  3. The Visa Process Takes Time. Getting your Canadian Working Holiday Visa is not instant. It can take anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks to complete. Many resorts won’t interview candidates unless they’re well into their visa process, with proof of approval or completed biometrics. If you leave it too late, you won’t have enough time to meet resort requirements and secure your role.

The #1 Mistake We See Every Year

“I was waiting for my exam results.”

We hear this every July… and sadly have to tell many keen applicants it’s too late now.

You don’t need to wait, we only require a deposit to secure your place, and your final grades aren’t required to move forward on your visa or interview.

How to Secure Your Spot Now

It’s simpler than you think and you don’t need to wait for your exam results to get started!

First, all it takes is a small deposit to reserve your place on the internship programme. No stress, no need to have everything finalised yet. This deposit guarantees that a spot is held for you while we guide you through the next steps. (Your deposit can be deferred to the following year if for any reason you do need to wait).

Once you’re booked in, we’ll immediately start helping you with the important bits, including your visa application and getting you prepped for resort interviews. These things take time, so by getting the ball rolling early, you’ll avoid any last-minute panic later in the summer. It will also take your mind off the anticipation of exam results waiting!

Best of all, you’ll be in exam season knowing your winter is already sorted. While your classmates are still trying to figure out what’s next, you’ll have peace of mind, your dream ski instructor adventure will be waiting for you when results day comes around.

Don’t risk missing out, secure your place today and we’ll take care of the rest!

Can anyone be a ski instructor?

You need to be 18 to get a work visa for an Internship but given the right attitude and ability, anyone can be a ski instructor. Training through a provider like the Winter Sports Company can ensure a speedy journey to becoming a ski instructor. Embarking on an intense training programme is a surefire way of learning the correct methods and, more importantly, understanding one’s strengths and weaknesses so that the student can improve through learning, practising and teaching the techniques and skills associated with a ski instructor.
