Ski & Snowboard Internships at Fairmont Hot Springs, a beautiful resort for all ages and abilities. The perfect combination for our Internship programmes.

Why not work at what is becoming our most popular choice on our books. A great little resort, friendly staff, well managed and a wonderful environment for everyone to have one of the best winter seasons instructing in British Colombia. One of our busier resorts for those wanting to stay actively instructing.

This resort is combined with the World Class resort of Panorama to provide the best of both worlds, a unique big mountain training ground on your door step, but nearby here is the perfect place to get involved in various departments within the resort, teach a variety of lessons in a small Snow School and feel a valued member of a well-structured team.

Fairmont – Mountain

Nestled in the British Columbia Rockies, Fairmont offers panoramic views of the Purcell and Rocky mountains. The resort prides itself on being set up for families – cruisey groomers and quiet runs make it a perfect playground for parents and kids alike. All runs are groomed into the perfect corduroy, and there’s a variety between green, blue and black runs, making it the ideal place to teach those new to the sport. But this isn’t just a resort for beginners; many seasoned skiers go to fine-tune their skills and enjoy the terrain park. Although small, the park is a sweet spot, with various progressive features for beginner to advanced riders.

Fairmont – Resort

Ideal for your Winter Sports ski or snowboard internship, Fairmont is known for its soft snow, quiet slopes and friendly people. Interns will live in Invermere, a thirty minute ride to the ski hill. Here, you will be part of a close-knit community and immerse yourself in beautiful British Columbia.

Fairmont is the environment to be introduced to snow sports or develop skills. Like many community hills, the resort is aimed at first-timers, hence why the majority of terrain is best suited for beginner and intermediate riders. Throughout your time you will feel part of a team who care about riding and shared experiences with others. With the natural thermal hot pools within the resort its a great way to wind down at the end of a busy day.

Fairmont – Activities

Although the resort’s focus is riding, Fairmont coins its name from the natural Fairmont Hot Springs located within the resort. After a long day of riding, the pools are the perfect way to unwind and relax. More so, the resort also offers night skiing, an activity well-loved over the winter months and provides variety in everyday life.

Thirty minutes away is the town of Invermere, where you will find everything you need, from grocery stores, to small independent shops, restaurants and bars. Living in a small community means relationships are formed quickly, and ride-sharing is a way of life.

Working at Fairmont has excellent benefits – consistent work and pay mean you can enjoy the surrounding area. If you’re looking for a big mountain fix, the Big Three (Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise and Mt Norquay) in Alberta are only a few hours away. Or if you want to stick to British Columbia there are other resorts such as Panorama, Kicking Horse and Kimberly on your doorstep.

Fairmont – Snow School

As part of the snow school, you may teach all ages and various ability levels as part of your development and get involved more deeply in resort operations. There is also the opportunity to be included on the season-long programs, such as Snowbirds, Whiskey Jacks, Team Fairmont Racers and Board-wild depending on your interest and technique.

There is also opportunity to work on building the terrain park and keeping it up to standard for daily operations.

Importantly, working at a small resort means you will always be supported and encouraged to improve your skills and ability to teach. If it’s a close-knit community you’re looking for – Fairmont is the way to go. When you are not working here you will be free-skiing or training for your Level 2 at Panorama.

Courses at Fairmont Hot Springs

We do not specifically run any courses at Fairmont Hot Springs, as we do use Panorama as the training academy for all our Interns lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work here. We understand that Fairmont is limited in its appeal when you have time off, hence our inclusion of a season lift pass at Panorama. As far as a positive working environment, it’s hard to beat this little gem of a ski resort.

“Fairmont is such a great place to work. Although it may be a smaller hill, I was presented with great opportunities, such as higher end lessons, basic toboggan training and great teaching terrain, as well as meeting some amazing people!”
