Sheep go to Whistler, Goats go to Revelstoke

“There is no other place like it in the world”

A relatively new resort but quickly making a name for itself as a venue for the pros. A towering presence, After 2 Gondolas, you are still nowhere near the top of this impressive mountain. The longest vertical drop in North America spans over 3121 acres, with a massive 15.2km run from top to bottom. A great vibe on and off the mountain. A huge terrain with easy access to the backcountry and industrial amounts of snow ensures this is a must-see for any aficionado. The town is considered to have one of the best collections of eateries on the Powder Highway with influences from all over the world.

Even if you only make it once in your lifetime, the neighbouring mountains of Begbie, Revelstoke, Macpherson and of course the infamous Mackenzie all combine to make this one of the most exciting places to go skiing or snowboarding. The snow conditions, the back country terrain, the off piste trails, the steep groomers will challenge anybody and test your abilities and your equipment to their limits. Go on make the effort, take a pilgrimage to this snowy mecca, you won’t be disappointed!

Revelstoke – Mountain

Revelstoke, fondly known as Revy, sits at the heart of British Columbia and is known for big dumps and big mountain terrain. Resting on the face of Mount Mackenzie, the resort takes the awards for the longest vertical descent and the most powder per rider in North America. A stop on the Powder Highway route, Revy sees an insane amount of snowfall each year. Boasting powder-filled alpine bowls, endless glades and wider groomers – Revy is a freeriders paradise. Its reputation rests on being steep and deep, there is a more mellow side. At the base of the resort, there is a dedicated beginner’s learning zone, and off the lifts up the resort, there are plenty of blue runs to be found. The sort of terrain that Revy offers makes freeriding and teaching exciting and varied.

Revelstoke – Resort

New to the 23 / 24 season, we’re stoked to be running ski and snowboard courses here. You’ll be living in the town of Revy, and you’ll be immersed in a community of others who love and live for the snow. But the resort itself offers on the mountain lodges for ride breaks, and options at the base of the hill for apres food and drinks. Revy, as a mountain and a town, is where all the cool kids hang out and certainly the place to take your ski and snowboard instructor course for your gap year, time out, or career development.

Revelstoke – Activities

Revy is regarded as a winter mecca – from dog sledging to hot springs to riding – the area offers a plethora of activities. It goes without saying that backcountry riding in the area is notorious and there are various cat-skiing and heli-skiing options available. This year the resort and its surrounding backcountry hosted the Yeti Natural Selection tour, a freeriding competition which showcases the best riders and lines. All of this shows why Revy is the hub of extreme sports. But if you fancy a break from adrenaline hits, downtown is littered with cafes, restaurants and bars. Dose Coffee for an Aussie style brunch and coffee, The Last Drop for late nights, Nico’s for pizza slices and beer at the Bierhaus are all must dos!
