Ski Instructor Courses

Turning your passion into a profession?

Our instructor courses are for skiers who want more than just a season. You’ll learn how to teach, improve your own technique, and earn globally recognised qualifications along the way.

It’s hands-on, challenging, and surprisingly rewarding – especially when you’re helping the next skier link their first turns. Job interviews for the following season.

02

Ski Instructor Internships

Get qualified and working all in the same season. Ski internships give you the training and the job. Earn your qualifications, then roll straight into paid work at a snow school.

It’s a full season, with coaching, mentoring, qualifications, and paid instructor work. All alongside a solid bunch of besties from start to finish.

Working Holiday Visa Needed

03

Ski Patrol Courses

Not everyone wants to teach. Some people want to charge through avalanche debris with a radio and a stretcher. For those career-minded individuals out there.

If that’s more your vibe, our ski patrol programs are built for you. You’ll train in rescue skills, first aid, and snow safety – then put it all into practice on real terrain with real mountain ops teams.

Serious training. Proper responsibility.

“I did a ski season in 2021/22 and it was truly the best experience of my life. I went with the level 1 and 2 internship in Canada. there isn’t a day that goes by where i don’t think about it. Rik and his whole team went that extra mile and made my experience amazing. i did my season in Panorama Mountain Resort and at first i was sceptical as i never heard of it before but when i got there, it was the most beautiful place i have ever seen. i have made friends for life through the Winter Sports Company and the training that they gave me helped me into my second season. I can’t thank them enough for all they did for me.

All in all, going across the world can be a scary experience, but WSC will do all they can to make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for you.”

Iwan Fesnoux on the Panorama Level 1 & 2 Instructor Internship

“Having read the other reviews I agree with pretty much all that everyone has already said;

– Best value for money of all the instructor courses (lift passes alone cost about £1000 for a season regardless)
– Living conditions superior to expectations and what I had experienced on my other ski seasons.
– A smaller company allowing for Rik and Emma to provide a more personal experience.
– Training and development opportunities were excellent.

Great people. Great experience.”

Abbie Morris on the Sun Peaks Level 1 & 2 Instructor Internship

“This company offers you everything you could want from a ski season; incredible options, incredible people, and most importantly incredible skiing… and snowboarding!

I went to Sunpeaks resort in BC, Canada, on the 18-week CSIA levels 1, 2 & 3 ski instructor training program. The opportunities available are endless. I got all the qualifications I’d planned on and more, ending the season on 9 quals. This course and company truly offer you everything you need to get into this industry and thrive.

Our training was amazing! I was taught by a variety of instructors, each one with a new perspective and something new to teach. We also had a consistent couple of instructors for our training majority, allowing us to really get to know them and vice versa.

It has truly been an incredible season and I have all intentions of returning to Sunpeaks to continue my training and put my qualifications to use.”

What to Expect from the Experience

  • Ski instructor life includes responsibilities… not just fun. It’s a job, and commitment and fitness are required.

  • Expect modest pay when starting (for Level 1/2) but scope to increase with hours, private lessons, tips, advancing levels. Main page mentions approximate earnings.

  • If you treat the first season as an investment (skill + experience), future seasons become easier and more rewarding — but don’t assume immediate big profits. (Your FAQ already notes first-year break-even challenges.)

FAQ's

A ski instructor at Level 1 or 2 earns a modest wage (CAD$17-26 per hour) , but can quickly increase his or her potential by climbing the ladder to Level 3 or 4 within their body of qualifications. Increasing their private requests, working as a dual certified instructor, tips and bonuses and achieving mini celebrity statuses all help to bring in the endorsements and increased earnings. Till you reach those dizzy heights, a Level 3 instructor will be your benchmark and bring in approximately (CAD$23-28 per hour) but also more hours work per week as you become more employable.

The courses are going to be some of the best times you have ever had in your life. Period. Great fun, no boss, no time constraints, just getting out what you are prepared to put in. We put you with similar ages to ensure you are on similar stages in your life.

Internships are some of the best fun you’ll ever have as you grow and learn with like minded people but there are serious work elements to it and you need to treat this as a job, like you would with any new employer
