Becoming Dual Certified

I did the 18-week course in Sun Peaks and had the time of my life while getting qualified to do the job I have always dreamed of. The course is well organised, and Karen and Steve do a fantastic job of helping with any problems people may have.

I was able to get CASI and CSIA level 1-2 while also getting my CSCF level 1, you make friends for life and have a lot of fun on and off the slope. The training was top-notch, and I couldn’t have asked for better instructors. The snowboard training was excellent, and one instructor trained us through levels 1 and 2. Having one instructor gave us real consistency and structure to the training. Although the training was challenging work, we always had a great laugh and looked forward to the next day.

Regarding work experience after the course, Karen and Steve are so helpful when it comes to finding work, and they will do anything they can to help you find it, wherever that may be. Karen helped everyone with their CVs and Visa applications and even woke up at 7 am on a Saturday to help us send our applications in the limited window to apply. After passing all my exams, I was lucky enough to be offered a job at Sun Peaks for the next season, and I look forward to returning.

Support from WSC during and after was impressive. I originally planned on doing my Level 1 and 2 ski and Level 1 snowboard, but while I was out there, I decided I wanted to do level 2 in both; Karen and Steve were pleased to help me do this and helped organise my training to make it work. They want everyone to succeed and get the most out of their time on the course.
